Disintegration
Disintegration is a consequence of our experimental works with calabash. Every now and than, one of us would come with an idea and we would work on the idea and gradually adapt on the gourd. Normally we take a lot of things into consideration at the design stage as we need to think several aspects of what we would be making. Because we need to consider the visual outcome and the reflections, it is not as straight forward as painting a gourd. Bead combinations, drill sizes are all different and important aspects that we think at the design stage. But sometimes we just give it a try and see if it works. Disintegration is one of those designs that we just went ahead and satisfied with the outcome. She is in our collection since made.
Disintegration is a little bit psychedelic, a little bit unusual and a little bit strange but definitely carries all the nice characteristics of a handmade gourd lamp. Additionally makes agreat gift idea particularly for someone at college and teen ages.
